Shipping & Delivery

  • We endeavour to despatch all orders by the next working day with occasional exceptions allowing for unplanned emergencies or illness.
  • Orders received by 9am on any working day should be despatched the same day with rare exceptions which will be determined by the time that our courier arrives to collect.
  • Compost by nature is a heavy beast, each bag can weigh up to 30kg depending on which type you’re buying, with the majority of bags weighing in around 18-20kg
  • Couriers aren’t too keen on handling compost – it doesn’t package well in boxes, so we send it wrapped in bags and well taped
  • This limits our courier options considerably, and thus means the cost we’re charged is what we have to pass on to our customers.
  • We also have to ensure our packaging costs are covered within that.
  • We send our smaller compost parcels, normally wrapped individually, via Royal Mail Tracked 48
  • Orders of 1-8 bags are ordinarily most cost effective to send by this method, and the shipping charged reflects this.
  • We are able to send up to 1000kg by pallet (roughly equivalent to 50 of our 40ltr bags), almost nationwide, for a kerbside delivery with a tail-lift.
  • Orders of 9 or more bags are sent on a pallet.
  • If access is tight please include a note for us to request a smaller (7.5t) lorry.
  • When using a pallet carrier we send on a 2-3 day delivery service.
  • You need to be able to pick up a call from the delivery depot to arrange a suitable time for delivery.
  • Any storage or return charges that occur through the depot being unable to make contact with you will be charged to you.
  • If you live within an hours drive of our TA11 base we can deliver up to 100 bags of compost using our own transport.
  • Our charge is based on the cost to run our vehicle and allows a bit towards the time of 2 people to load, then offload to your chosen location (as long as we can get our truck/trailer reasonably close)

  • Once you’re happy with a quote and wish to proceed with your order please place it through the website, choosing the local collection or delivery option and either pay for your order online, or choose to pay on delivery (we like cash – we don’t lose anything on card processing fees!)
  • Ensure we have your phone number, your full address and if you’re not an easy to find location, please include your What3Words “address” as this is often the easiest way to find customers and helps us enormously.
  • The delivery element is always payable on delivery as we don’t have a simple way to add this to the website for individual customers.
  • This is far simpler! We all love a freebie and we love to be able to offer a freebie so…
  • All items listed in our Giftware department, along with the majority of those listed in our Garden Sundries department, are priced to include UK postage!
    So, what you see on screen is the price you pay. No hidden extras.
  •  We also guarantee that ALL items that we list on this website will *always* be priced lower than the same product if we have listed it on a well known auction website where we have a well established E*ay shop. This is possible because we don’t have to factor in their 25% fees!!
  • In addition to this we also send all small items by a 48hr tracked service – this is a better deal than on e*ay where we send by 2nd class to keep costs down.
  • We offer a collection option for all our products
  • On receipt of your order we will make contact to arrange your collection time
  • You will be able to collect from our Somerset, TA11 contactless collection area.
  • If you require assistance with loading your vehicle please let us know as we’re always happy to help.
  • We are based in South Somerset and only offer local deliveries for pre-ordered products.
  • We do not, never have and never will sell our products door-to-door
  • We are not connected to anyone who does, they are running their own legitimate businesses that are entirely independent of what we do.
