As a mulch straw pellets will expand to create a crust over the soil which can hold up to 6 times their weight in water which will help keep the soil moist. In addition it helps act as a weed deterrent preventing them getting established.

The rough texture of straw pellets can act as a natural slug deterrent and can keep the ground warmer which will help the worms proliferate.

Straw Pellets will add nutrients back into the soil as they decompose and unlike bark mulch they won’t leach nitrogen or cause the soil to become more acidic.

It is a great addition to hanging baskets to help aid moisture retention and keep your flowers looking at their best for longer.
