We purchased one of these for ourselves. We were so impressed with the results that we have decided to stock them.

We have a smallholding and are against the use of poison. We are not keen on traps where unintended species or pets can be harmed. The Nooski for us was the perfect answer. Observational update:

Having used these traps for several months with a very high success rate, we have noticed in the recent very cold weather that traps set outside or in cold buildings have “mis-fired”.

The rings are less effective in very cold weather. At sub-zero temperatures they take longer to retract giving the rodent a chance to escape unscathed with the bait.

With these being produced in New Zealand we assume it is less an issue there. They claim 100% success every time.

We think if we produced these, with our British reserve, we would probably claim 90% Success.

TRAPPING TIPS: 

1. Identify whether you have rat or mouse problem. Ensure you set the appropriate trap. If you set a rat trap and find it has fired but caught nothing…you probably have mice and need to order a Nooski Mouse Trap!
2. Ensure the trap is positioned against a wall or object that the rats are travelling along. Rats don’t like traps in open spaces.
3. Limit food source as much as practically possible such as rubbish bags, grass seed, pet food etc.
4. Do not move the traps once set. Rodents are neophobic and will recognise if you move the position of the trap and become trap shy.
5. Use fresh bait. Change bait weekly and change type of bait if not having success. Wash the trap in warm water and set with gloves. Human scent will deter rats.

Tests have shown that several traps set in an area will produce better results than a single trap. Be patient, it can take up to four weeks to trap a resident male rat, but Nooski will get it every time!
